Before Sunday's game local celebrities plus former and current Bay Area athletes competed in the PlayStation2 Home Run Challenge presented by Best Buy.
The winning team consisted of ex-Giant Mike Felder ex-Athletic Wayne Gross current Sharks player Scott Hannan and local telecasters Fred Inglis and Vern Glenn.
"They had two Major Leaguers and we had [Giants mascot] Lou Seal" complained Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart who was on a shorthanded four-man team.
Cracked Felder "I don't know if we're the favorites we're just trying to get out of here healthy."
Home Run Challenge: Prior to Sunday's game at SBC Park three teams made up of Bay Area celebrities and former ballplayers will bat against ex-Giants pitcher Bill Laskey in the challenge.
Participants include Giants alums Vida Blue Mike Felder and Darren Lewis former A's star Wayne Gross 49ers alums Steve Bono and Guy McIntyre Oakland Raider Jerry Porter San Jose Sharks Brad Stuart and Scott Hannan along with Larry Krueger of KNBR Johno Sasaki and Fred Inglis of KTVU Vernon Glenn of KRON and comedian Bob Sarlatte
